Encouraging Others

"Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. 

You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. 

So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. 

He gets the last word; yes, he does."  1 Peter 5:8-11

This is Peter writing to the early leaders of the church, Peter was himself among the first disciples and the first leader of the church.

Like Christ who came down from heaven to be like us, living among us in our human world, Peter understands both the joys and the sufferings we experience as leaders of the same church, even here and now, here in the city the Lord has given us.

Peter went through the same sufferings we do, and for the most part many more times harder than we could ever go through. And here he is, not backing down but instead doing the opposite, writing words of encouragement and teaching the other leaders in his day but also us and yes not just us but all the leaders all over the world. Thank you for your Word Lord. We know we are not alone in all this.
