Freedom (in Christ)

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

With all these talk about whether to stand or not to stand, or to kneel or not to kneel, let us instead prayerfully consider all those who suffered (and still are suffering) including those who gave up their lives (particularly today - Veterans Day) for us to have that sweet freedom to indeed have a choice.

In many other places elsewhere in the world, they never have and will never have that freedom.

For those of us who live for Christ, it seems so counter productive and anti everything the Lord wants for our lives when during the course of us running the race or living in the freedom He suffered and died for to give to us, we ourselves place stumbling blocks, obstacles, speed bumps and many other rules and regulations on what we should and what we shouldn't do. (So please do not add more traps to fall into or even egg shells to walk on, your enemy already placed several, you don't need to add your own).

Now, don't get me wrong, the Spirit of the Lord and God's Word both shows us the Way to take and the road is not wide for it is indeed quite narrow. So when we are fully up and about, and running the course on our own lane, inside in your spirit, there is going to be an unexplainable peace and a joy that will make you to want to keep on running your race, moving in no other direction but towards the finish line. Anything else that keeps you from doing so, is from the enemy.

So how to run your race?

Scriptures tell us plainly enough a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for our behavior: 'Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them'.

Yes, the Christian life is not about, me, me, me and more but what about me? It is and will always be about how to be like Jesus, a servant (non-grumbling at that) and about being saved by God's grace -- a freedom that we didn't deserve and one that we received through nothing we did or could ever do. Let us not go out and act like we can.

Life by the Spirit

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:13-18
