Not My Will But Yours

Matthew 27:45-46 MSG

From noon to three, the whole earth was dark. Around midafternoon Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

It is easy to forget that Jesus when He was with us in the flesh, was really fully human like us. His frustrations, His trials and His dependency upon our Abba Father is like ours.

So don't ever think that you are alone when your prayers seems to be going unanswered. Do not think that you are the only one who feels that God abandoned you in your hour of need. Jesus cried buckets, His sweat were like drops of blood and He asked God, why did He abandon Him.

But just remember, God did not abandon Him -- God was doing what He needed to do.

In our most difficult times, it is alright to question God. But when we do, the question we want to ask ourselves is, do we really want to hear His answer? Do we really want to know? And do we really want God to give us His response and answer our questions like He did Job's? (Job 38)

Although I'll say it again, Jesus did it. So for sure we can ask God, why. But one thing we should not do is that we cannot ever be angry and blame God for anything.

Like Jesus, we have to have prayer partners (Matthew 26:36-46) praying for us and we need to withdraw from everyone, fall on our knees and say “Father, if you are willing, let this cup pass from me; however not my will, but yours be done.”

Yes, because God has a plan for us and the best is yet to come.
