The High Priest Who Cried Out in Pain
"Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help."
Hebrews 4:14-16 (MSG)
Whenever we really sing a worship song, no not just the ones we sing from our mouth, but from our heart, the minute we really put everything else on pause and offer a sacrifice of praise, the moment we really understand the words to the song we are singing and that actual moment when we really do not care what other people are going to say when they see us really opening up ourself to the Lord, then at that precise moment our Lord will actually lift us up, place his loving arms around us, hug us and allow us to melt in his arms, like a parent does to their little child who have just tripped and fell and hurting all over, both inside and out.
Yes, that was a very long sentence. But that's how long the Lord has been waiting for you to come to him and really worship him not by lip service or simply mouthing out the words to a song. I mean he is waiting for us to really worship him, not wanting that to glorify himself, instead he really wants that because he knows we really need it. We need to quit running away from him, hiding what we feel deep inside. He knows us inside and out, as the verse says, he is not out of touch, he knows how we feel. He can relate, because he too went through devastating circumstances in his vulnerable earthly human form.
Time's up. The Lord is putting a song in our hearts. Sing and let us come to him humbly but boldly and receive his touch today and everyday.
