Look Up

"From there Jesus took a trip to Tyre and Sidon. They had hardly arrived when a Canaanite woman came down from the hills and pleaded, “Mercy, Master, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly afflicted by an evil spirit.”

Jesus ignored her. The disciples came and complained, “Now she’s bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She’s driving us crazy.”

Jesus refused, telling them, “I’ve got my hands full dealing with the lost sheep of Israel.”

Then the woman came back to Jesus, went to her knees, and begged. “Master, help me.”

He said, “It’s not right to take bread out of children’s mouths and throw it to dogs.”

She was quick: “You’re right, Master, but beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table.”

Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then her daughter became well."  Matthew 15:21-28 (MSG)

Think about it, is the faith of this Canaanite woman greater than ours?

Be honest, many times it is.

But guess what, all we really need is the mustard seed sized faith, we already have which he has already given us.

Besides, we know who our God is (more than her).

For sure, we know what he can do.

We know of the great things he has already done in our lives.

We know of his promises.

And more importantly, he knows us, he has engraved us on the palm of his hands. Every time he looks at his nail prints, he is able to remember that he has already given us the best gift of all. And surely, he knows that anything else we need is so trivial compared to that, and if we really need it, he will give it to us.

Today, look up, hold your head up,  praise and thank him. Look to him and no one else. The answer you are still seeking is near and yours for the taking.
