My Way

"A person may plan his own journey, but the LORD directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9

This is another wise saying, a "meme" in today's social media lingo.

It is a source of inspiration when everything is turning up as you have planned or a source of frustration when the LORD may lead you to a route that is 40 years long instead of the ideal two week long journey.

Remember you lay down your plans but it is the LORD who will lead you every step of the way. We may have come up with our two year plan and the LORD surely blessed it but remember it will be His job to take us every step of the way. And so walking very close with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God is the only way.

But don't fret when the LORD gently takes our hand and walks us slowly or directs us sideways or diagonal or even in a circular route. Because in order for our plan to come to fruition in two years instead of 40, we need to stay on His course and trust in His lead instead of our own, sometimes selfish, lazy or misguided ways. So many people have already perished singing Frank Sinatra's I did it "My Way".  There is only One Way. The LORD's Way. And if we can hear His voice then we can follow Him.
